Tectonic setting and mineralisation potential of the Cowley Ophiolite Complex, north Queensland

چکیده

Northeast Queensland contains multiple slices of mafic–ultramafic units, strung out along regional faults that mark major tectonic boundaries. One such complex is the Cowley Ophiolite Complex, which situated Russell-Mulgrave Fault. The Complex a differentiated composed gabbro, chlorite schist, anthophyllite schist and serpentinite. We interpret alteration assemblages observed throughout reflect an amphibolite facies metasomatic overprint within supra-subduction zone setting. This interpretation consistent with geochemical discrimination chromite grains from schist. records higher metamorphic grade than surrounding Hodgkinson Formation, we this to allochthonous structural setting complex, positioned ancient subduction margin. margin represented today by Metasomatism emplacement probably pre-dated deposition Mossman Orogen’s active successions. Petrology, tectonic setting and ore mineralization potential of basic rocks in north of Alvand complex, using amphibole and plagioclase composition

The Alvand complex (Hamedan province) comprises several bodies ranging from acidic to intermediate and basic compositions intruded in the regional metamorphic sequence of the area (the Hamedan phyllites) during various magmatic episodes in Jurassic. In northern part of the complex (the Cheshmeh-ghasaban area) there are some outcrops of hornblende gabbro and olivine gabbronorite. The olivine-gab...

Petrography, geochemistry and tectonic setting of the Gharabolagh intrusive mass in North Hashtrud, East Azarbaijan

The plutonic body of Bostanabad-Meyaneh belt formed during the Cenozoic magmatism on the weast Alborz-Azarbaijan zone. The Oligocene plutonic rocks consist of alkaligranite, granodiorite and biotitegranite, intruded into the Eocene volcanic-sedimentary rocks. The predominant textures are granular, graphic and perthite. Geochemical evidence reveals that they are cogenetic and have features typic...

contribution of setting to the study of characters and the main idea in e. brontes: wuthering heights and t. hardys: return of the native.

this thesis aims to adduce an unmitigated and comprehensive explication concerning the relationship of three significant elements of fiction: setting, chracter and theme. my research is basically placed on two outstanding novels of the 19th century: emily brontes wuthering heights and thomas hardys return of the native. my endeavour lies in studying the correlation among the three above-mention...

Tectonic evolution of the Brooks Range ophiolite, northern Alaska"

Analysis of internal structures of the Brooks Range ophiolite at the three largest and well-exposed klippen reveals a NE-SW structural grain that may parallel the original axis of magmatism of a slow spreading marginal ocean basin. Sub-parallel directions of lattice·fabrics in olivine of mantle peridotite and shape fabrics in pyroxene and plagioclase of layered gabbro indicate that asthenospher...

Quantitative evaluation of neo-tectonic and morpho-tectonic activities at the north and northwest of Damghan (Eastern Alborz)

1- Introduction: Geomorphic investigation is a powerful tool for studies of active tectonics in active regions. Active faults and folds commonly have topography that can assist in identifying different geomorphic or structural segments along a structure, and estimating the potentially most active segments. In tectonically active regions, drainage networks and topographic features can be used as...
